Mimi Crume Sterling

Mimi Crume Sterling is a corporate communications, ESG, and CSR executive with a career spanning luxury fashion, nonprofit leadership, and global consumer brands. Sterling began her career in New York City, working in luxury fashion and lifestyle public relations, branding, and marketing. Her employers included Hermès, Assouline, and Hearst Magazines, where she served as executive director of public relations. This experience developed her expertise in brand storytelling and stakeholder engagement.

Sterling later joined Neiman Marcus Group in Dallas as vice president of corporate communications and public relations. During her tenure at the luxury retailer, she expanded her responsibilities to include leadership of the corporate culture and philanthropy teams before becoming vice president of environmental, social, governance, and belonging. In this role, she contributed to significant ESG transformation within the retail industry.

Sterling transitioned to nonprofit leadership as CEO of The Family Place, a Texas-based organization providing safe housing, counseling, and skills for survivors of domestic violence. The organization serves more than 12,000 clients annually. Sterling led the organization's youth prevention initiative, the Be Project, which educates nearly 7,000 teens each year on healthy relationships and recognizing signs of dating violence. She also focused on expanding advocacy efforts and strengthening community partnerships across North Texas.

After her time at The Family Place, Sterling founded MCS Impact Advisory, advising organizations on corporate communications, ESG, and CSR strategy. She also serves as senior director of communications at PepsiCo. Throughout her career, Sterling has built and developed departments, expanded brands, and led teams through periods of change, demonstrating the integration of business strategy and social impact. She is a keynote speaker on topics including ESG, corporate strategy, female leadership, belonging, and social activism.
