Millicent Boykin

Millicent Boykin is a nonprofit leader with more than 25 years of experience in community engagement, volunteer mobilization, and partnership building. Boykin serves as vice president of strategic partnerships at OneStar Foundation, where she is a member of the executive team. In this role, she oversees OneStar's statewide networks and partnership initiatives, including the Texas Nonprofit Strong initiative, a collaboration with United Ways of Texas that provides nonprofits with tools, resources, and a unified voice for sector advocacy.

Boykin's career in nonprofit management includes serving as regional program director at Joint Action in Community Service, where she contributed to program implementation and community development. She later joined VolunteerNow, holding several leadership positions such as chief program officer, senior director of community engagement, senior director of student engagement, and director of student programs. During her tenure at VolunteerNow, Boykin focused on volunteer recruitment, program development, and community outreach, supporting volunteer management and strengthening community partnerships. She also served as agency relations coordinator, further developing her expertise in volunteer management and nonprofit collaboration.

Boykin joined OneStar Foundation as director of statewide initiatives before advancing to her current role. Her work in the field has been recognized with the Texas Volunteer Management Conference Legacy Award, which acknowledged her leadership in promoting volunteer service. Boykin holds a degree in psychology from Northwestern University and a certification in group facilitation from APAC at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, supporting her ability to convene stakeholders and drive collaborative outcomes.

Boykin's experience in nonprofit leadership, volunteer engagement, and community resilience positions her as a knowledgeable voice on topics such as cross-sector collaboration, nonprofit capacity building, and civic infrastructure in Texas.
