Mike Novogratz

Mike Novogratz is an investor recognized for his influence at the intersection of traditional finance and the digital asset economy. Novogratz has spent four decades in financial markets, beginning his career at Goldman Sachs, where he traded macro products and held leadership roles, including president of Goldman Sachs Latin America and head of fixed income, currencies and commodities risk in Asia. He later joined Fortress Investment Group, managing a multi-billion-dollar hedge fund and contributing to the company’s initial public offering.

A former Princeton wrestling captain and first-team All-Ivy League honoree, Novogratz credits the discipline developed through athletics as foundational to his approach in financial markets. After serving as a helicopter pilot in the New Jersey National Guard, he transitioned to finance, taking on international assignments in Tokyo and Hong Kong with Goldman Sachs before becoming a partner.

Following his tenure at Fortress, Novogratz shifted focus to digital assets, making significant early investments in Bitcoin. He founded Galaxy Digital, a New York City-based multi-strategy investment firm specializing in digital assets and blockchain technology. Galaxy Digital operates across asset management, trading, principal investments, investment banking, and mining, and is known for publishing audited financial results during the sector’s volatile cycles. The firm has played a prominent role in the evolution of the digital asset and blockchain industry.

Galaxy Digital underwent a strategic upgrade by redomiciling to Delaware and consolidating its listing on Nasdaq under the ticker GLXY. The firm expanded its platform to include AI-driven high-performance computing data centers. Notably, Galaxy acquired a 160-acre site in Dickens County, Texas, converting it from Bitcoin mining to AI infrastructure, with CoreWeave as the primary tenant. The Helios campus, with expansion approvals, is valued at over $15 billion.

Novogratz is a frequent speaker at global finance conferences and appears regularly in financial media, providing insights on cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and the future of finance. He serves as chairman of the board of the Bail Project, is a founding partner of the REFORM Alliance, and founded Beat the Streets, a nonprofit supporting wrestling programs in New York City public schools.
