Mike Henry is an actor, writer, producer and comedian best known for his more than two decades of work on the Emmy-winning animated series Family Guy, where he created and performed some of the show’s most recognizable characters, including Cleveland Brown and Herbert. He went on to co-create, write, produce and star in The Cleveland Show, expanding his career beyond performance into television development and production. His work across animation, television and film has given him a distinctive perspective on creativity, collaboration, storytelling and building longevity in an unpredictable entertainment industry.
Beyond the characters audiences know, Henry speaks candidly about the less visible side of a creative career: finding your own voice, navigating rejection, taking creative risks, adapting when an industry changes, and refusing to let success define what comes next. Drawing on more than 25 years in entertainment, he brings humor and personal storytelling to conversations about creativity, resilience, reinvention and the long game of building a meaningful career. A Richmond, Virginia native, Henry was named a 2026 Distinguished Alumnus by Collegiate School in recognition of his accomplishments and career.
