Mike Bromberg

Mike Bromberg is a communication professor and keynote speaker whose career focuses on academic research, positive psychology, and performance. With an undergraduate degree in psychology and a graduate degree in communication, Bromberg combines academic knowledge with practical experience in public speaking and performance. He began his career in stand-up comedy in Northern California and has since performed in plays, sketch, improv, and has written and directed projects. Bromberg teaches at universities in North Texas, including University of Texas at Dallas and Texas Christian University, where he helps students develop communication skills.

Bromberg has spoken on happiness for more than a decade at associations, conferences, and organizations nationwide. Drawing on psychological research and public speaking expertise, he developed an educational and action-oriented program that incorporates personal stories from teaching, work at a crisis center, psychology data, and perspectives on human well-being. His keynote, "The Science of Happiness: A Professor's Fascinating View of Happiness in a Post-Covid World," encourages audiences to reconsider traditional approaches to psychology by focusing on what individuals without disorder are doing right and presenting scientific evidence for how mindset changes can support self-improvement and goal achievement.

As a professor in communication studies, Bromberg works with students to enhance public speaking skills and addresses topics such as positive psychology and group leadership. He provides practical strategies to manage speech anxiety and improve presentation effectiveness. His training includes an MA in communication, a BA in psychology, improv training at Second City, stand-up comedy, and acting experience accumulated over more than 20 years.

During college, Bromberg served as a suicide hotline counselor, shaping his perspective on resilience and happiness. This experience informs his science-based programs, which integrate personal stories, psychology research, and insights on building productive and positive professional and personal lives. Bromberg is also an active volunteer in Kiwanis International, demonstrating a commitment to community engagement. He presents to corporate audiences, university communities, and professional associations, delivering content that is both informative and engaging.
