Midland, an American country music band formed in 2014, is renowned for its unique neotraditional country style. The ensemble, consisting of Mark Wystrach, Jess Carson and Cameron Duddy, is signed to Big Machine Records. Their portfolio boasts four studio albums: “On the Rocks,” “Let It Roll,” “The Last Resort: Greetings From” and “Barely Blue.” Their discography includes hit singles such as “Drinkin’ Problem,” “Burn Out,” “Make a Little,” “Mr. Lonely,” “Cheatin’ Songs,” “Sunrise Tells the Story” and “Longneck Way to Go.”

In 2018, Midland’s creative efforts earned them two Grammy nominations for best country song and best country duo/group performance for “Drinkin’ Problem.” The same year, they won the ACM Award for new vocal group of the year. Their debut album, “On the Rocks,” achieved gold status as certified by the RIAA in 2019. A year later, they launched their own brand of tequila, named insõlito. In 2021, they released their documentary-style album, “The Sonic Ranch,” which offers an insightful exploration of the band’s origin and initial recording sessions.

Midland’s latest album, “Barely Blue,” released in September 2024, was produced by Grammy Award winner Dave Cobb. The group’s music style—a blend of traditional country influenced by George Strait and the Eagles—is noted for its rich harmonies and a 1980s new traditionalist feel. Their unique fashion style, inspired by “Nudie suits,” coupled with their music videos directed by figures like Duddy, contributes significantly to their distinctive public image and reception. Midland’s success is also reflected on the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums charts, marking them as a significant force in the country music scene.
