Mickey Guyton

Mickey Guyton is an American country singer and songwriter recognized for her contributions to the country music industry. As a Black female country artist, Guyton's sound blends elements of classic country and contemporary pop. She moved to Nashville and signed with Capitol Records Nashville after auditioning with a song by Patty Loveless. Guyton made her first national television appearance at the White House during a concert featuring James Taylor, Dierks Bentley, Kris Kristofferson, Darius Rucker, and Lyle Lovett.

Guyton's debut single, "Better Than You Left Me," reached No. 34 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart and led to her inclusion in Billboard's "10 Hot Country Artists to Watch." She received a nomination for the Academy of Country Music Award for New Female Vocalist and performed "I'm Standing With You" from the "Breakthrough" movie soundtrack at the ACM Awards alongside Chrissy Metz, Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alaina, and Maddie & Tae. Her EP "Bridges" features the song "What Are You Gonna Tell Her?," which was recognized by Variety.

Guyton's song "Black Like Me," inspired by social justice movements, was named one of the Top 10 all-genre songs of the year by NPR, Billboard, and the Associated Press. The track earned a Grammy nomination, making her the first Black female artist nominated for Best Country Solo Performance. With her full-length debut, "Remember Her Name," Guyton became the first Black artist to earn a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album. She was also the first Black female solo artist to perform her own song at the ACM Awards and the first Black woman to host the event.

Guyton performed the national anthem at Super Bowl 56 in Los Angeles, reaching a global audience. She is a four-time Grammy-nominated artist and has been recognized by TIME Magazine as Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Guyton and her music have appeared on the cover of Billboard and have been profiled in the New Yorker, the New York Times, and Rolling Stone.

Guyton's sophomore album, "House on Fire," is an 11-track collection that highlights her vocal range and songwriting. She co-wrote 10 of the tracks, collaborating with producer Karen Kosowski, singer-songwriter Tyler Hubbard, producer Nathan Chapman, and duet partner Kane Brown. Guyton also performed at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, singing her song "All American." Through her music and achievements, Guyton has established herself as a significant figure in American country music.
