Michal Kosinski

Michal Kosinski is an Associate Professor at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. His research centers on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its societal and organizational impact.

Kosinski is an acclaimed academic, author, and public intellectual. He is among the Top 1% of the Highly Cited scholars of all time with 100+ peer-reviewed papers in prominent journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Nature Scientific Reports, Psychological Science, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Machine Learning. In 2015, Kosinski received a Rising Star award from the Association of Psychological Science and in 2023 an Early Achievement Award from the European Association of Personality Psychology.

Kosinski’s research is widely discussed beyond academia. His work inspired a cover of The Economist, a 2014 theater play “Privacy”, several TED talks, a video game, and has been featured in thousands of press articles, books, podcasts, documentaries, and Hollywood movies. As documented in Steven Levy's book "Facebook: The Inside Story", his research exposed the privacy risks that they exploited and assessed the effectiveness of their methods.

Kosinski is a popular speaker that has shared the stage with people such as Elon Musk, Ray Kurzweil, Ed Snowden, or Max Tegmark. He gave talks is keynotes and seminars attended by the Prime Ministers of Germany and Mexico, C-suite executives of firms such as Boeing, NFL, Microsoft, Facebook, P&G, Infosys, Colgate, Barclays, Bertelsmann, Raiffeisen, Telus, China Merchants Bank, or McKinsey.
