Michael Kelly

Michael Kelly is an American actor recognized for his work in television and film, particularly for roles that explore morally complex characters. Kelly initially planned to pursue law before discovering acting through a college elective at Coastal Carolina University. After graduating, he moved to New York City, trained at the Actors Studio, and began his professional career in theater.

Kelly is best known for his portrayal of Doug Stamper, chief of staff to Frank Underwood, in the Netflix political drama series "House of Cards." He played Stamper throughout all six seasons of the series. The role earned Kelly multiple Emmy nominations for outstanding supporting actor in a drama and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for "House of Cards."

In addition to his television work, Kelly has appeared in films such as "Changeling," "Dawn of the Dead," "Law Abiding Citizen," "The Adjustment Bureau," "Chronicle," and "Now You See Me." He also appeared on The Sopranos as FBI Agent Ron Goddard. Kelly is known for portraying authoritative figures in high-stakes narratives, contributing to his reputation in drama and thriller genres.

Kelly joined the cast of the Amazon Prime Video series "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan" as CIA operative Mike November, a recurring character across multiple seasons. He also stars as CIA Deputy Director of Operations Byron Westfield on the Paramount+ series "Lioness." Kelly appears as William Crockett, leader of a major oil management firm, on the Paramount+ series "Landman." His career spans decades, with a diverse range of roles in prestige television and film, establishing him as a consistent presence in the entertainment industry.
