Michael Kashani

Michael Kashani is a specialist in sustainable finance, serving as managing director and head of sustainable credit and platforms at Apollo Global Management. In this role, Kashani is responsible for integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations across Apollo’s credit business, lending platforms, and non-majority equity investments. He also co-chairs Apollo’s Climate Task Force and represents the firm in several industry initiatives, including as the inaugural steering committee chair of the Integrated Disclosure Project and as a member of the Sustainability Reference Group at the IFRS Sustainability Alliance.

Before joining Apollo, Kashani was the global head of ESG portfolio management within the fixed income division at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. There, he coordinated ESG integration efforts across all fixed income teams and managed sustainability-focused mandates, contributing to the development of the firm’s ESG capabilities. His earlier experience includes senior research and credit analyst roles at Goldman Sachs, American Capital Access, and Standard & Poor’s, with a focus on the healthcare and education sectors.

Kashani is a frequent speaker at industry events, such as the Milken Institute Global Conference, where he addresses topics related to sustainable investing. His work in advancing ESG standards and transparency, along with experience in portfolio management and industry advocacy, positions him as a recognized figure in sustainable finance and ESG integration.
