Michael Hochberg

Dr. Michael Hochberg is the founder and president of Periplous LLC, which provides advisory services on business strategy, technology and statecraft. Dr. Hochberg is a visiting scholar at the Centre for Geopolitics at the University of Cambridge, where he is working on three books devoted to applied geopolitics.

Dr. Hochberg is a serial entrepreneur, a silicon photonics technologist and executive with experience translating complex technology into business strategy and product. He has co-founded and sold four companies in the semiconductor and telecommunications sectors, generating more than $1 billion in exit value.

Dr. Hochberg's unique experience as a founder, a Fortune 500 corporate executive and an advisor or board member to numerous companies and investment firms gives him insights into what corporate leaders are experiencing and how to position themselves to profit from geopolitical advantages.

Dr. Hochberg sits on the board of the Foreign Policy Research Institute and serves as an advisor to NATO DIANA. He actively participates in a range of public-interest initiatives focused on technology, security and the evolving global order.
