Michael Ealy

Michael Ealy is an American actor known for his work across film and television. Ealy began his acting career in the late 1990s, appearing in off-Broadway stage productions such as "Joe Fearless" and "Whoa-Jack." After establishing himself on stage, he transitioned to screen roles, including appearances in Showtime's "Soul Food," NBC's Law & Order, and the ABC sitcom "Madigan Men."

Ealy's breakout role was in "Barbershop," where he played Ricky Nash, a character he reprised in "Barbershop 2: Back in Business." He also appeared as Slap Jack in "2 Fast 2 Furious" and co-starred in the telefilm adaptation of "Their Eyes Were Watching God," produced by Oprah Winfrey and Quincy Jones and starring Halle Berry.

He starred in the Showtime series "Sleeper Cell" and its second season, "Sleeper Cell: American Terror," earning a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. Ealy continued to take on prominent film roles, including "Seven Pounds" with Will Smith, the action-thriller "Takers," and the drama "For Colored Girls," for which he received an African-American Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Ealy played the co-lead in the Fox series "Almost Human," a science fiction police procedural, portraying the android Dorian. He also starred in the romantic comedy "Think Like a Man," based on the book by Steve Harvey, and the psychological thriller "The Intruder," directed by Deon Taylor.

Ealy has appeared in "Power Book II: Ghost," "The Afterparty," and "Reasonable Doubt," demonstrating his ability to work across drama, comedy, and thriller genres. He joined the cast of Amazon's Muhammad Ali limited series The Greatest, portraying Malcolm X. With a career spanning more than two decades, Ealy has established a diverse portfolio in the entertainment industry, contributing to film, television, and stage.
