Michael Chaves Biography
Michael Chaves is an American director, writer, editor, producer and visual effects artist. He is known for his work within the horror genre.
His work on short films have gotten him widespread recognition in the horror community. His short film "The Maiden" won the 'Best Super Short Horror Film' Award at Shriekfest in 2016. He also created and directed all of the episodes of Chase Champion, an action comedy web miniseries.
His highly anticipated feature film debut, "The Curse of La Llorona" is set to premiere at the SXSW film festival in 2019. The film is being produced by notable horror film director and producer James Wan.
In addition to expanding into the realm of feature films, Chaves is also pursuing work in the music industry. He directed the music video for "Bury a Friend," the third single from the debut album of singer Billie Eilish.
Continuing his work with James Wan, Chaves is set to direct the third installment in the "Conjuring" Series, "The Conjuring 3." He is also set to direct "The Reckoning," a horror film being produced by filmmaker Michael Bay.
