Michael Breed

Michael Breed is a prominent figure in golf instruction, known for his extensive experience both on the course and in golf media. Breed served as the head golf professional at Sunningdale Golf Club for 12 years, as well as at Birchwood Country Club, and held assistant professional positions at Deepdale Golf Club and Augusta National Golf Club. This background provided a foundation for a teaching career that has reached golfers worldwide.

Breed began his media career as an on-course reporter for Golf Channel before hosting "The Golf Fix," a weekly instructional show that ran for nearly 400 episodes. As host of the highest-rated golf instruction series in Golf Channel history, Breed contributed to evolving the presentation of golf instruction. He later expanded his media presence by hosting "Course Record with Michael Breed" on CBS and contributing to CBS Sports HQ. Breed also hosts "A New Breed of Golf" on Sirius XM PGA Tour Radio and "The Best of A New Breed of Golf" on weekends.

Breed has been recognized as a Top 100 Instructor in America by Golf Magazine and as one of the Top 50 Instructors in America by Golf Digest. He was named the PGA's National Teacher of the Year and is the only two-time recipient of the Metropolitan PGA Section's Teacher of the Year Award. Breed has also received the Metropolitan PGA Horton Smith Award. Golf Digest ranks him as the No. 1 Teacher in New York State and among the top 10 on its Iconic Top 50 Teachers list.

Breed has worked with more than 30 touring professionals and nearly 100 PGA professionals, with his students achieving victories on the PGA Tour, Web.com Tour, LPGA, and mini tours. As an author, Breed published "Picture Perfect Golf Swing: The Complete Guide to Golf Swing Video Analysis" and "The 3-Degree Putting Solution," as well as the instructional video series "Effect to Cause." He serves as chief digital instructor for Golf Digest and oversees the Golf Digest Best Young Teachers program.

Breed is a member of the PGA of America and contributes to digital broadcasts of the PGA Championship and Ryder Cup. He has served on boards for the Metropolitan PGA and has represented the PGA of America at National Golf Day in Washington, D.C. Breed is also involved in charitable organizations, including The First Tee, Folds of Honor, Hope for the Warriors, Wounded Warriors Foundation, and Salute Military Golf Association. Across television, radio, and digital platforms, Breed is recognized for making golf swing mechanics accessible to a global audience of golfers.
