Melissa Stratman

Melissa Stratman is the owner and CEO of Coleman Associates, a Boulder, Colorado-based healthcare process redesign firm specializing in transforming medical clinic operations. Stratman began her career as a pre-med student and team leader for her community health center's process redesign team, an experience that shaped her focus on healthcare systems improvement. Rather than following a traditional clinical path, Stratman leveraged her frontline insights to develop systems that enhance healthcare delivery for both patients and providers.

Stratman has held positions across the healthcare industry, including roles with an insurer, a healthcare marketing firm, and in hospital and outpatient clinic settings. She has served as a Spanish interpreter and established a Cultural Diversity and Interpretive Services Department. Her experience includes work with The People's Clinic, Clarkson Memorial Hospital, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska, as well as executive education through Harvard Division of Continuing Education. This broad background informs Stratman's approach to healthcare transformation, integrating perspectives from payors, clinical care, diversity, and administration.

As CEO, Stratman has led Coleman Associates through growth and innovation, introducing initiatives such as a performance dashboards program, a tailored model for private practices, a specialty care access program, the Tactical Nurse training program, and the Indispensable MA program. She also founded Vroom!, an online learning management system used nationally for staff training, onboarding, and development across more than 26 modules. Stratman's proprietary Dramatic Performance Improvement (DPI) methodology is widely adopted in primary care redesign.

Stratman is recognized as a thought leader in healthcare improvement, having assisted hundreds of health centers across all 50 states in process optimization, data-driven decision-making, staffing models, and leadership development. She is a frequent presenter at industry conferences, including those hosted by the National Association of Community Health Centers, where she leads sessions on topics such as frontline staff empowerment and health center operations.
