Meg Josephson

Meg Josephson is a psychotherapist, licensed clinical social worker, author, and meditator. She approaches therapy through a mindfulness-based, compassion-focused, trauma-informed lens, with a mission to support people in their healing and in returning to themselves.

Josephson’s path into the mental health field began with her own healing journey. Through mindfulness-based practices and conscious awareness, she began addressing her inner child wounds and core beliefs while cultivating awareness around trauma responses that once served her but no longer did. Her work is rooted in the understanding that trauma, stress, and stagnant energy are stored in the body, and that true healing must integrate both body and mind.

She earned her meditation teacher certification from the Nalanda Institute in New York City, focusing on somatic meditation and studying the Tibetan Buddhist roots of the practice. She later earned her master’s degree in social work from Columbia University with a concentration in advanced clinical practice. She is now a licensed clinical social worker (#129111) in California.

Josephson offers workshops, a newsletter, and free educational content on Instagram and TikTok. Her integrative, compassion-focused approach incorporates the mind, body, and soul, emphasizing that healing one supports the others. She uses mindfulness-based techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, inner child work, existential therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy—all through a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive framework. She places special focus on inner child healing, attachment trauma, and building awareness of thought patterns and behaviors that no longer serve her clients.
