May Cobb

May Cobb, a Texas-based author, is known for her captivating thrillers, including "A Likeable Woman," "My Summer Darlings," "The Hunting Wives," and "Big Woods," all of which are set in the piney woods of East Texas. Having studied Victorian Literature during her Master's program, she draws influence from the era’s detective novels, infusing her work with a similar sense of suspense and intrigue. Cobb has also had the unique opportunity to work alongside writer and director Ron Shelton and actor Lolita Davidovich. In 2025, her book "The Hunting Wives" was adapted by Netflix into a hit show.

In addition to her novels, Cobb's writing prowess extends to various renowned publications. Her work has been featured in The Washington Post, The Rumpus, Austin Monthly, and Texas Highways Magazine, further cementing her status as a prolific writer. Currently, she is involved in a long-term project centered on the life and legacy of the late jazz great Rahsaan Roland Kirk.

Cobb's aptitude for writing was recognized early on, as evidenced by her first-place win in the UIL competition for Personal Writing in the 4th grade. This achievement, which she considers her proudest, laid the foundation for her successful writing career. Today, she continues to write from her home in Austin, Texas, bringing to life thrilling narratives that captivate and engage readers across the globe.
