Mason Branstortor

Mason Branstrator is a content creator, adaptive athlete, and public speaker known for sharing his experiences with spinal cord injury, disability advocacy, and adaptive sports. An athlete from Minnesota, Branstrator's life changed at age 17 following a downhill skiing accident that resulted in a spinal cord injury at T12, leading to paraplegia. He spent nine days in the ICU before being transferred to Craig Hospital in Colorado, where he underwent several months of rehabilitation focused on paralysis recovery.

After rehabilitation, Branstrator returned to Minnesota and later attended the University of Denver, maintaining a connection to Craig Hospital as a mentor. He began sharing his journey on social media platforms, including YouTube and Instagram, where he has built a large following by producing content about wheelchair accessibility, adaptive living, and daily life as a paraplegic. His videos aim to educate both the disability community and the general public, providing resources, highlighting adaptive equipment, and showcasing the diverse experiences of wheelchair users.

Branstrator also addresses hearing loss, another aspect of his life, using his platform to advocate for accessibility and inclusion.

An active participant in adaptive sports, Branstrator competes in tennis, basketball, pickleball, cross-country skiing, and biking. He has completed a triathlon, surfed in Santa Cruz, California, and finished Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota. He also explores nature using an adaptive mountain bike and wheelchair, demonstrating the possibilities available through adaptive recreation.

As a public speaker, Branstrator has presented at major events, sharing practical insights about living with a disability and connecting with audiences on topics such as resilience, accessibility, and adaptive sports. Through his work, Branstrator continues to promote the message that disability does not limit the potential for an active and fulfilling life.
