Mary Culler

Mary Culler is the president of Ford Philanthropy, where she leads the company’s global philanthropic investments and community partnerships in more than 40 countries. Ford Philanthropy has maintained a legacy of supporting change, investing over $2.3 billion in initiatives that expand access to essential services, education, and entrepreneurship. Culler focuses on equity and innovation, utilizing Ford’s resources and mobility expertise to address community needs and foster upward mobility worldwide.

In addition to her philanthropic work, Culler serves as chair for Ford’s Michigan Central Station project, overseeing the redevelopment of this historic Detroit landmark into an innovation hub. Her responsibilities include community engagement, ensuring the project revitalizes the urban space and creates opportunities for collaboration, economic growth, and cultural enrichment. Culler’s approach to Michigan Central emphasizes inclusivity and the development of a diverse community, aligning with her broader perspective on corporate citizenship and urban revitalization.

Culler’s career includes serving as chief of staff to Bill Ford, directing U.S. State and Local Government Relations, and leading Ford’s Global Public Policy office. Before joining Ford, she held roles at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and worked on energy and natural resource issues in the U.S. Senate. Culler holds a degree from Indiana University and a master’s in public administration from Harvard University. She is recognized for her expertise in public policy, community development, and as a public speaker on the intersection of business, philanthropy, and social impact.
