Mary Claire Haver

Dr. Mary Claire Haver is a board-certified OB/GYN, Certified Menopause Practitioner, and Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist recognized for her contributions to women's health and menopause medicine. Haver graduated from Louisiana State University Medical Center and completed her residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch. She has delivered thousands of babies and taught numerous residents during her academic career, serving as associate residency director, assistant professor, and adjunct associate professor at UTMB and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Haver shifted her focus to menopause medicine after observing the challenges her patients faced with weight gain during menopause and experiencing similar issues herself. This led her to develop "The Galveston Diet," a nutrition program designed specifically for women in menopause, emphasizing an anti-inflammatory approach to nutrition. The program has reached more than 120,000 women globally.

Haver founded Mary Claire Wellness, a clinic dedicated to women in midlife, and The 'Pause Life, an initiative providing menopause education and support with a focus on lifestyle interventions. She is the author of the New York Times bestseller "The New Menopause" and "The New Perimenopause: An Evidence-Based Guide to Surviving the Zone of Chaos and Feeling Like Yourself Again." "The New Menopause" was also recognized by New York Post as a Best Book of the Year.

Haver hosts the podcast "unPAUSED with Dr. Mary Claire Haver," where she discusses women's health, menopause, and evidence-based care. She appeared in "M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause," a PBS documentary exploring the medical and cultural aspects of menopause. Haver is a frequent contributor to national media, with features in The New York Times, Forbes, The Today Show, CBS Mornings, Oprah's Menopause Revolution, and TIME100 Creators List. With a following of more than 7 million across social media, Haver continues to provide science-based resources for women navigating menopause and midlife health.
