Martha Gulati

Martha Gulati is a cardiologist specializing in preventive cardiology, serving as director of preventive cardiology and associate director of the Barbra Streisand Women’s Heart Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s Smidt Heart Institute. Gulati is also a professor of cardiology and holds the Anita Dann Friedman Endowed Chair in Women’s Cardiovascular Medicine and Research. She is known for research on women’s heart health, including work as principal investigator of the St. James Women Take Heart Project and as a co-investigator on the Women’s Ischemia Syndrome Evaluation and the Women’s Health Initiative. Gulati’s research has been published in medical journals, and she is the author of "Saving Women’s Hearts."

Gulati has held leadership roles in cardiovascular organizations, including serving as past president of the American Society for Preventive Cardiology and as the inaugural chief of cardiology at the University of Arizona.
