Martín Escobari

Martín Escobari is co-president and head of global growth equity at General Atlantic, a growth investment firm with more than $100 billion in assets under management. As chairman of the firm’s investment committee and a member of its executive, management, and portfolio committees, Escobari has contributed to shaping General Atlantic’s global strategy and expanding its presence in emerging markets. He has overseen investments in high-growth companies across Latin America and other regions, including XP Inc., Arco, dLocal, QuintoAndar, Hotmart, and Gympass.

Before joining General Atlantic, Escobari was managing director at Advent International, where he led investments in the financial services sector, including CETIP, Brazil’s fixed income exchange. Earlier in his career, he co-founded Submarino.com, a Brazilian online retailer, serving as its chief financial officer through its initial public offering and subsequent sale. Escobari began his professional journey as a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, where he developed a foundation in strategic thinking that has informed his investment approach.

Escobari is a public speaker and thought leader in private equity, venture capital, and emerging markets. He is regularly featured at industry events such as the Milken Institute Global Conference and has been recognized for his impact on entrepreneurship and investment, including being named Person of the Year by the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce. He serves on the boards of organizations including Endeavor Global, Lincoln Center, and Harvard Management Company, reflecting his involvement in fostering innovation and leadership across sectors.
