Mark T. Hofmann

Dr. Mark T. Hofmann is a crime and intelligence analyst, business psychologist, and expert in behavioral and cyber profiling. Trained and state-certified in the United States, Hofmann holds a master's degree in organizational psychology and has specialized in behavior and cyber profiling. He completed his doctorate on the profiles and motives of hackers on the darknet and has conducted scientific interviews with psychopaths and hackers to gain insight into their perspectives. By age 28, Hofmann was training criminal and federal police officers in interrogation tactics.

Hofmann is known internationally through media outlets such as ARD, CNN, Forbes, CBS, and 60 Minutes Australia. He is recognized for his expertise in behavioral and cyber profiling, cybersecurity, and the psychology of cybercrime. As a university lecturer in behavioral and cyber psychology, Hofmann works with private sector companies, public authorities including prosecutor's offices and law enforcement agencies, NGOs, educational institutions, and international media.

Hofmann is active on the cybersecurity speaking circuit, delivering keynote presentations on topics including "Profiling Hackers – The Psychology of Cybercrime" and "Profiling – Reading and Convincing People." He has delivered more than 100 keynote speeches annually, focusing on the human factor in cybersecurity and strategies to detect social engineering attacks.
