Mark Mittelberg is an author and international speaker specializing in Christian apologetics and evangelism. Mittelberg has written nearly 30 books and published pieces, focusing on apologetics, evangelism, and evangelistic leadership. After earning an undergraduate degree in business, Mittelberg completed a Master of Arts in Philosophy of Religion from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, graduating magna cum laude. He also holds an honorary Doctor of Divinity from Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Mittelberg served as the original evangelism director at Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago and as executive vice president of the Willow Creek Association, supporting more than 10,000 churches across over 100 denominations worldwide. He contributed to the development and launch of the Global Leadership Summit events. Alongside Lee Strobel, Mittelberg led several outreach events, including a debate on atheism versus Christianity featuring William Lane Craig, which drew 7,778 attendees to Willow Creek Church.
As an author, Mittelberg is the primary author of the "Becoming a Contagious Christian" training course with Lee Strobel, translated into more than 20 languages and used by nearly 2 million people. His other works include "The Unexpected Adventure" and "The Case for Christ Daily Moment of Truth" devotional, both co-authored with Strobel; "The Questions Christians Hope No One Will Ask (With Answers)," which received the Retailers Choice Award; and "Confident Faith," recognized by Outreach Magazine as Apologetics Book of the Year. Mittelberg contributed to "God Is Great, God Is Good," edited by William Lane Craig and Chad Meister, which received the Christianity Today award for best book on apologetics. His published works have sold more than 3 million copies.
Mittelberg's book "Contagious Faith: Discover Your Natural Style for Sharing Jesus with Others" is accompanied by a six-week video training course. He serves as executive director of The Lee Strobel Center for Evangelism and Applied Apologetics at Colorado Christian University, which offers accredited online Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees, as well as certificate courses. Mittelberg has also served as the primary evangelism trainer for the Luis Palau Association, equipping thousands of believers in regional training gatherings, and has been a speaker for Summit Ministries, teaching students at worldview conferences.
Mittelberg is a frequent contributor to Outreach Magazine and has served as an editorial consultant and guest for Lee Strobel's "Faith Under Fire" television show. He has appeared on national television and radio programs, focusing on Christian apologetics and evangelism.
