Mark Meadows

Mark Meadows is an American politician and author who served as the 29th White House chief of staff under President Donald Trump. Prior to his political career, Meadows spent nearly 30 years specializing in startups and business reorganization, focusing on business growth and restructuring before transitioning to public service. He represented North Carolina's 11th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he became known as a conservative voice in Washington.

A Tea Party Republican, Meadows was a founding member of the Freedom Caucus and chaired the group during his time in Congress. He played a central role in major legislative debates and was involved in the passage of significant tax cuts. Meadows was recognized for his influence within the conservative movement and his use of media to advance policy positions.

Meadows was appointed White House chief of staff, succeeding acting chief Mick Mulvaney. In this role, he was a key figure in the Trump administration's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and served as the administration's lead negotiator on federal stimulus legislation.

After his tenure in the White House, Meadows authored the memoir "The Chief's Chief," which provided insights into the Trump administration, including details about President Trump's health during the coronavirus pandemic. Meadows later joined the Conservative Partnership Institute, a nonprofit organization focused on supporting conservative politicians and staff. He became the second White House chief of staff to face criminal charges in connection with efforts to contest the results of the presidential election. Meadows was later pardoned by President Trump, though the pardon did not affect state charges.
