Mark McMorris

Mark McMorris is a Canadian professional snowboarder known for his achievements in slopestyle and big air events. McMorris began his professional career as a teenager, quickly establishing himself in the competitive snowboarding world. At age 16, he won the first World Cup slopestyle competition he entered and became the first person to land a Backside Triple Cork 1440, a milestone in snowboarding progression.

McMorris holds three Olympic bronze medals in slopestyle, placing third in three separate Winter Olympics. He has earned 25 X Games medals, including 12 gold, and has four US Open Championship wins. His X Games accomplishments include holding the record for the most medals in Winter X Games history, surpassing previous record holders. McMorris has demonstrated technical innovation in snowboarding, landing advanced tricks such as the frontside triple cork 1800 in competition.

In addition to his competitive success, McMorris is recognized for his resilience following a severe accident in Whistler, British Columbia, where he sustained multiple injuries. After extensive rehabilitation, he returned to international competition and continued to earn podium finishes, openly discussing the physical and mental challenges associated with injury recovery in elite sports.

McMorris has contributed to snowboarding media, appearing in films such as "The Art of Flight," "Standing Sideways," and "13," and producing his own feature project, "In Motion." He co-founded the McMorris Foundation with his brother Craig to support youth access to sport in Canada, raising significant funds and providing athletic opportunities for thousands of children. McMorris is active in promoting snowboarding through social media and partnerships, advocating for inclusivity and youth engagement in action sports.
