Marcella Arguello

Marcella Arguello is an American stand-up comedian, writer, and actor known for her fearless humor, commanding stage presence, and unapologetic social commentary. Born and raised in Modesto, California, to Salvadoran immigrant parents, she began her comedy career after moving to Los Angeles, quickly gaining attention for her bold style and sharp wit.

Her comedy blends personal stories with incisive takes on race, gender, culture, and identity. Standing six-foot-two with signature curly hair, she uses her physical presence to her advantage, often poking fun at public perceptions and personal experiences. Marcella’s quick improvisation and take-no-prisoners attitude make her a standout on stage.

She has appeared on Last Call with Carson Daly, @midnight, 2 Dope Queens, Lights Out with David Spade, and Night Train with Wyatt Cenac, among others. In 2019, she released her debut comedy album The Woke Bully, which debuted at #3 on the Billboard Comedy Charts. Her HBO Max stand-up special, Bitch, Grow Up!, released in 2023, marked a major milestone as she became the first Salvadoran-American woman to headline a comedy special on the platform.

Off stage, Marcella created and hosted Women Crush Wednesdays, a popular live comedy showcase, and continues to advocate for diverse voices in comedy. Her work has earned critical acclaim for its honesty, fire, and wit—cementing her as one of the most exciting and original voices in stand-up today.
