Marc Hurlbert

Marc Hurlbert is the chief executive officer of the Melanoma Research Alliance, a leading nonprofit funder of melanoma research. A pharmacologist by training, Hurlbert has more than two decades of experience in medical research and public health, previously serving as the organization's chief science officer. In his role, he sets and executes strategic direction, oversees research programs, and fosters collaborations among patients, scientists, clinicians, and supporters. Under Hurlbert's leadership, the Melanoma Research Alliance has expanded investment in rare melanoma subtypes, brain metastases, and early detection initiatives, utilizing technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning to advance melanoma research.
