Maluma

Juan Luis Londoño Arias, known professionally as Maluma, is a Colombian rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor recognized for his contributions to reggaeton, Latin trap, and pop music. His stage name is derived from the first syllables of his mother, father, and sister's names. Maluma began recording music at age 16, and his independent single, "Farandulera," gained popularity online and on Colombian radio, leading to a contract with Sony Music. He released his debut album, "Magia," soon after.

Maluma's early singles, including "Obsesión" and "Miss Independent," helped him transition from a reggaeton audience to mainstream Latin pop. "Magia" received significant radio play across Latin America, while "Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy" achieved commercial success in the United States, appearing on the Latin Pop, Urban, and Tropical charts. The album topped the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and established Maluma as a prominent figure in Latin music, resulting in international tours. He has consistently appeared on Billboard charts, including Latin Airplay, Hot Latin Songs, and the Billboard Hot 100.

His third album, "F.A.M.E.," received the Latin Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album and featured collaborations with artists such as Timbaland and Jason Derulo. Maluma is also known for working with Shakira on "Chantaje" and "Clandestino," and with Madonna on "Medellín." His album "Papi Juancho" included the hit single "Hawái," which spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart. The Weeknd joined the remix of "Hawái," marking the artist's first performance in Spanish. Maluma has earned 20 Latin Grammy nominations.

Maluma has a significant social media presence, becoming the first male Latino artist to surpass 10 million followers on Instagram. He has appeared in multiple music videos with over a billion views on YouTube. In addition to his music career, Maluma made his film debut in the romantic comedy "Marry Me," alongside Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson, and provided the voice for Mariano in Disney's animated feature "Encanto."

Outside of entertainment, Maluma founded the El Arte de los Sueños foundation, which supports underprivileged youth in Colombia through art and music programs. He received the Spirit of Hope Award for his philanthropic work. With a discography of six studio albums, a strong digital presence, and roles in film and television, Maluma maintains a significant influence in Latin music and global pop culture.
