Malik Tillman

Malik Tillman is an attacking midfielder known for his technical skill and versatility in American soccer. Born in Nuremberg, Germany, Tillman developed in the Bayern Munich academy after rising through the SpVgg Greuther Fürth system alongside his older brother Timothy. His father served in the U.S. military, making Tillman a dual national eligible for both Germany and the United States.

Tillman progressed through Bayern Munich's youth ranks and made his Bundesliga debut with the first team, contributing to squads that secured the UEFA Super Cup, German Supercup, and Bundesliga titles. Seeking consistent first-team opportunities, he moved on loan to Rangers FC, where he recorded 12 goals and five assists in 43 appearances and was named PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year.

Following his time in Scotland, Tillman joined PSV Eindhoven, initially on loan and then permanently. During his tenure, PSV won the Dutch title, with Tillman contributing nine goals and 10 assists in his first season. He followed up with 12 goals in 26 league matches and three goals in six UEFA Champions League appearances, helping PSV secure a second consecutive Eredivisie title. Tillman later returned to the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen, making an immediate impact by scoring three goals in one week, including a brace against Villarreal CF in the UEFA Champions League.

Internationally, Tillman committed to the United States after representing both Germany and the United States at youth levels. He debuted for the USMNT in a 3-0 win over Morocco and earned additional caps, becoming a key attacking midfielder for the national team. At the World Cup, Tillman provided an assist and registered five shots in the opening match as the United States defeated Paraguay 4-1. His experience in European club soccer and international play has established Tillman as a significant figure in American soccer.
