Maja Stark

Maja Stark is a Swedish professional golfer, known for her rapid ascent through the ranks and her significant achievements on both the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour.

Stark's golfing journey began in her hometown of Abbekås, Sweden. Her talent became evident early on, leading her to represent Sweden in various amateur competitions. Notably, she was part of the Swedish National Team that clinched gold at the European Ladies' Team Championship for three consecutive years from 2018 to 2020. She also represented Europe in the 2017 Junior Solheim Cup.

Pursuing collegiate golf, Stark attended Oklahoma State University. In her sophomore year (2020–21), she was named the Big 12 Conference Player of the Year and earned First-Team All-American honors. She set a school record with a 70.48 stroke average and led the Cowgirls to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship final match for the first time in program history. Her amateur success included a tie for 13th at the 2020 U.S. Women's Open and a tie for 16th in 2021, both as an amateur.

Turning professional in August 2021, Stark quickly made her mark by winning her second professional start on the LET Access Series. She continued her winning streak with two more victories on the LET within her first few months as a professional. Her breakthrough on the LPGA Tour came in August 2022 when she won the ISPS Handa World Invitational in Northern Ireland, earning her LPGA Tour membership.

Stark's career reached a new pinnacle in 2025 when she secured her first major championship title at the U.S. Women's Open at Erin Hills, finishing with a 7-under-par total of 281. This victory marked her ninth professional win and solidified her status among the elite in women's golf.

Beyond individual tournaments, Stark has represented Europe in the Solheim Cup in 2023 and 2024 and played for Sweden in the 2023 International Crown. Additionally, she competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics, finishing tied for 10th.
