Lynn Martin

Lynn Martin is the 68th President of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), a position she has held since January 3, 2022. She is the second woman to lead the NYSE in its over 230-year history.

In addition to her role at the NYSE, Martin serves as Chair of Fixed Income & Data Services at Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE), the parent company of NYSE Group.

Born and raised in Smithtown, New York, Martin developed an early interest in technology, sparked by working on a Commodore 64 computer during her childhood. She pursued this passion academically, earning a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Manhattan College and later obtaining a Master of Arts in Statistics from Columbia University.

Martin began her professional career as a computer programmer at IBM, where she worked for three years. She then transitioned to the financial sector, joining the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange. Her career progressed through various leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer of ICE Clear U.S., CEO of NYSE Liffe U.S., and CEO of New York Portfolio Clearing. Prior to becoming President of the NYSE, she was President of ICE's Fixed Income and Data Services.

Throughout her career, Martin has been recognized for her influence and leadership in finance. In 2023, she was ranked 45th on Forbes' list of the "World's 100 Most Powerful Women" and 56th on Fortune's list of "Most Powerful Women." In 2024, she was cited by American Banker as one of the top 25 "Most Powerful Women in Finance" and featured on Fortune's "Most Powerful Women" list.

Martin serves on the Board of Directors of the Partnership for New York City and the Inner-City Scholarship Fund. She is also a trustee at Manhattan College and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society.
