Lucinda Williams is a singer-songwriter recognized for her influential contributions to American music, blending folk, country, rock, and blues. Raised in a literary household as the daughter of poet and literature professor Miller Williams, she was influenced by Delta blues, Hank Williams, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Leonard Cohen. Williams is known for her evocative, plain-spoken lyrics and her exploration of a wide range of human emotions, establishing her as a prominent storyteller in the singer-songwriter and Americana genres. Time magazine named her "America's best songwriter," and Rolling Stone included her among the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time.

Williams began her recording career with "Ramblin' on My Mind" and "Happy Woman Blues." Her self-titled album, "Lucinda Williams," is regarded as an Americana classic and features the song "Passionate Kisses," which earned her a Grammy Award for Best Country Song after being covered by Mary Chapin Carpenter. "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road" marked a commercial and artistic peak, fusing rock, blues, country, and Americana. Williams has continued to record and release new music, including "Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart," which features collaborations with Bruce Springsteen, Angel Olsen, and Margo Price, as well as "Lucinda Williams Sings the Beatles from Abbey Road" and "World's Gone Wrong."
