Louis McCartney is a rising Irish actor celebrated for his dynamic work in stage, television, and film. He trained at Dublin’s prestigious Bow Street Academy—Ireland’s National Screen Acting School—and launched his career with screen credits that include a dramatic cameo in "Game of Thrones," a recurring role as Shay O’Hare in BBC Northern Ireland’s "Hope Street," and a lead performance in the coming-of-age film "Silent Roar," which premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
In December 2023, McCartney made a sensational professional theater debut as Henry Creel in "Stranger Things: The First Shadow" on London’s West End, earning him both the Stage Debut Award and a Critics’ Circle Award as Best Newcomer. He reprised the role when the production transferred to Broadway in early 2025, earning a nomination for Best Actor in a Play at the Tony Awards.
Now residing between London and New York for his Broadway stint, McCartney continues to channel raw emotional energy—describing his craft as a balancing act between human fragility and monstrous force—and is seen as one of Northern Ireland's most compelling young talents
