Loco Dice

Yassine Ben Achour, known professionally as Loco Dice, is a DJ, producer, and label owner recognized for his contributions to electronic dance music, particularly in the tech-house and house music genres. Born in Düsseldorf, Germany, to a family of Tunisian immigrants, Ben Achour developed a multicultural perspective that has influenced his approach to music production and DJing.

Ben Achour began his career as a hip-hop DJ and rapper, holding a residency at Salon des Amateurs in Düsseldorf and supporting artists such as Usher, Ice Cube, Jamiroquai, Snoop Dogg, and R. Kelly. Transitioning to dance music in the late 1990s, he secured a residency at Tribehouse, where he was discovered by German producer Timo Maas. Encouraged by Maas and Martin Buttrich, Ben Achour shifted his focus to electronic music production, releasing tracks on labels including Minus and Ovum. Early singles such as "Phat Dope Shit" on Four:Twenty Recordings and collaborations with Buttrich, including "MeninaBrasiliera" and "Seeing Through Shadows," established his reputation for groove-oriented, bass-heavy club tracks.

Ben Achour founded the Desolat label, which has become a respected platform in the global electronic music scene. His debut album, "7 Dunham Place," was released on Desolat, followed by "Underground Sound Suicide" on Ultra Music, featuring collaborations with artists like Giggs and Neneh Cherry. The track "Love Letters" further showcased his blend of American house, techno, and European minimalism. The album "Purple Jam" reflects Ben Achour's ongoing connection to hip-hop, both in sound and approach. He has also released "Heavy Heart" with Skrillex and Fireboy DML on Virgin.

Ben Achour has performed at major music festivals such as EDC, Ultra, Tomorrowland, and Coachella, and has held residencies at Ibiza venues including Circoloco at DC-10, the Amnesia Terrace, and Space Miami. His remix work spans a diverse range of artists, including Kevin Saunderson, Moby, Black Coffee, Disclosure, Warren G, and Basement Jaxx. Beyond music, Ben Achour has contributed to video games such as "Decks & FX" and composed runway soundtracks for fashion designer Marcelo Burlon during Men's Fashion Week in Milan. His collaborations with Daily Paper, New Era, and his own clothing brand Serán Bendecidos highlight his engagement with fashion and visual culture. Ben Achour continues to explore the intersections of electronic music, hip-hop, and fashion, maintaining a presence in the international music and creative industries.
