Liv Garfield, a British business executive, has held significant positions in prominent companies throughout her career. She served as the chief executive of Openreach, an integral part of BT Group, from 2011 to 2014. During this period, she led the successful £2.5 billion rollout of fibre broadband across the UK. Subsequently, in April 2014, she assumed the role of chief executive of Severn Trent, a position held until November 2025.
Garfield's leadership and contributions have been recognized globally. In 2013, Fortune Magazine acknowledged her as one of the world's fastest-rising corporate stars. The following year, she was named the 14th Most Powerful Woman in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa by the same publication. Her success continued to soar in 2018, when she was announced the winner of the prestigious Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award. Remarkably, in the same year, she was the youngest female CEO of a FTSE 100 company.
Her dedication to the water industry was rewarded in 2020 when she was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the Birthday Honours.
