Lionel Richie

Lionel Richie is a four-time Grammy Award-winning R&B singer-songwriter, composer, record producer, actor, and television judge. Richie began his career with the Commodores, a funk and soul group known for albums featuring tracks such as "Machine Gun" and "Brick House." Over time, Richie contributed romantic ballads including "Easy," "Three Times a Lady," "Still," and "Sail On."

Richie left the Commodores to pursue a solo career, releasing his self-titled debut album, which reached No. 3 on the charts and sold more than 4 million copies. His follow-up album, "Can’t Slow Down," sold over twice as many copies and earned the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Richie’s third album, "Dancing On The Ceiling," produced hits such as "Say You, Say Me," "Dancing on the Ceiling," and "Se La." He also co-wrote the charity single "We Are the World" with Michael Jackson, which sold more than 20 million copies.

Throughout his career, Richie has sold more than 90 million records worldwide, establishing himself as one of the best-selling artists in the music industry. He has received multiple Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year for "Can’t Slow Down," Producer of the Year (Non-Classical), and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Truly."

Richie has been nominated for two Golden Globe awards and won one. He was nominated for Best Original Song for the film "Endless Love" and won Best Original Song for "Say You, Say Me" from the film "White Nights." The song also received the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Richie was honored with the Johnny Mercer Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Richie has served as a judge on American Idol alongside Luke Bryan and Katy Perry. He has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Richie continues to perform internationally, maintaining a significant influence on contemporary music and pop culture.
