Liam Maguire

Liam Maguire is recognized as a leading NHL historian and trivia expert in Canada, known for his extensive knowledge of hockey history, statistics, and storytelling. With more than four decades of experience as a host, emcee, and keynote speaker, Maguire has established a career that spans broadcasting, authorship, and live events, making him a prominent figure in Canadian hockey culture.

Maguire is a four-time published author. His works include "The Real Ogie! The Life and Legend of Goldie Goldthorpe," which features a foreword by sportscaster Bob Costas and is published by Burnstown Publishing House, and "Next Goal Wins," published by Random House with a foreword by Wayne Gretzky. His first two books feature forewords by Dick Irvin and Bobby Orr, respectively. These books focus on NHL trivia, history, and anecdotes, offering comprehensive insights into the league.

In addition to his writing, Maguire has been active in Canadian radio and television for decades. He worked in the radio industry for more than 30 years, including hosting "The Ultimate Hockey Show" on Rogers 1310AM in Ottawa. Maguire has appeared on national radio and TV programs such as Hockey Night in Canada, Sportsnet, TSN's Off the Record, and various radio shows across Canada and the United States. He has also hosted the online show Puckchat.com and contributed to Ottawa Senators pre- and post-game radio broadcasts.

Maguire has made more than 2,500 public appearances across Canada and has worked with 65 Hockey Hall of Fame members at functions, fundraisers, dinners, and charity events. Among these hockey legends are Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, Gordie Howe, Rocket Richard, Jean Beliveau, Guy Lafleur, Mike Bossy, and Denis Potvin.
