Lex Gillette

Lex Gillette is a Paralympic athlete who has represented the United States in T11 (track) and F11 (field) events. His portfolio of accomplishments includes multiple silver medals in the men's long jump events across five Paralympics from 2004 to 2020. Notably, Gillette clinched a gold medal in the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai. He also set a world record for F11 classified athletes in the long jump with a leap of 6.77 meters in 2015. Gillette's athletic prowess extends beyond the track and field, with his introduction to beep ball in high school leading to multiple World Series titles with the West Coast Dawgs.

Off the field, Gillette has pursued music, releasing a music single titled "On the Stage." His contributions and achievements have been recognized in his home state, with "Lex Gillette Day" celebrated on September 25 in Hagerstown, Maryland, and Washington County, MD. In 2015, he was bestowed with the Athletes in Excellence Award from The Foundation for Global Sports Development.
