Leigh Woisard

Leigh Woisard is a communications executive and public speaker with more than 30 years of experience in corporate strategy, public relations, and media. Woisard built her career through a series of senior roles at Cox Communications, the largest privately held cable and broadband company in the United States, ultimately serving as senior vice president of corporate communications and public affairs. In this role, she directed internal communications, media relations, product public relations, crisis communications, and corporate social responsibility initiatives, while also serving as chief communications counsel to Cox's senior executives.

Woisard's career began in the political sector, advising government officials before transitioning to agency work, where she counseled corporate clients such as Stanley Tools, Chili's Grill & Bar, and New England Journal of Medicine. She joined Cox in New England as a manager of media relations, later overseeing employee communications and charitable giving as director of public relations, and then serving as vice president of public affairs for Cox Virginia. In these roles, she shaped communications strategy across the company's Northern Virginia, Roanoke, and Hampton Roads systems. Woisard holds a master's degree in communications management from Syracuse University. Her professional achievements include recognition by Multichannel News as a Wonder Woman and receipt of the Public Relations Society of America's Silver Anvil Award.

Woisard has also advocated for women's advancement in the media and technology sectors. She served as chair of The WICT Network's Global Board of Directors, a professional development organization focused on empowering women in media, entertainment, and technology. In this capacity, she co-led the organization's annual Leadership Conference, bringing together industry professionals for networking and professional development. Woisard has volunteered with organizations including the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing and NCTA–The Internet & Television Association, where she co-chaired the NCTA Public Affairs group.

After her corporate tenure, Woisard transitioned to consulting and public speaking, leveraging her communications expertise to help professionals and organizations improve clarity and intention in their messaging. She speaks on topics such as personal branding, imposter syndrome, public speaking, professional burnout, and managing career narratives, delivering sessions at industry conferences including PRSA ICON and the WICT Leadership Conference. Her signature talk, "Take Control of Your Career Narrative — PR Tips for Boosting Your Career," provides actionable strategies for authentic self-promotion to audiences ranging from emerging professionals to senior executives.
