Lauren Gibbs

Lauren Gibbs is a 2018 Olympic Silver Medalist, a 2020 World Champion and a 17-time World Cup medalist in the sport of bobsled.

Gibbs' path to the Olympics was different than most. She played volleyball in college for Brown University, and entered corporate America following graduation. At the age of 30, after finishing her Executive MBA, she decided to leave her job to pursue bobsled and the Olympic dream. Three months later, she was selected to represent Team USA as a rookie member of the 2015 Women’s National Bobsled Team. Thrust into a sport she had never competed in or even watched, Gibbs transformed herself into an elite-level bobsledder in just four years’ time. At the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, she and her teammate, Elana Meyers Taylor, earned second place on the podium in the Women's Bobsled event.

Gibbs works as Vice President of Business Development for The Posse Foundation, a national nonprofit organization that partners with select colleges and universities in the United States to provide student scholarships and leadership training. Additionally, she delivers keynote speeches, addressing topics like motivation, the importance of reframing adversity, and sustaining productivity through uncertainty. In her TedX talk, "From Boardroom to Bobsled: The Courage to Become an Olympian," Gibbs relates from personal experience how giving up old dreams can allow new ones to soar.
