Laura Story

Laura Story is an American contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter, worship leader, Bible teacher, and author known for her contributions to Christian music and worship. Billboard ranked Story as the 40th Top Christian Artist of the 2010s, and she has received a Grammy Award and six GMA Dove Awards. She holds a master's degree in theological studies and a doctorate in worship studies, academic credentials that inform both her music and public speaking.

Story began her career as the bass player for the band Silers Bald, releasing four independent albums with the group before pursuing a solo career. During the recording of her debut solo album, she wrote the track "Indescribable," which gained widespread recognition when Chris Tomlin's version reached No. 2 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs and was included in the album "Passion: How Great Is Our God." Story later signed with INO Records and released her third album, "Great God Who Saves."

A pivotal moment in Story's career came with the release of the album "Blessings." The album debuted at No. 2 on Billboard Christian Albums, and the title single reached No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Songs chart. The single earned a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song and achieved Platinum status in the United States. The song was inspired by personal experiences, including her husband's diagnosis with a brain tumor, and explores themes of faith and perseverance. Story continued her recording career with albums such as "God of Every Story" and the Christmas album "God with Us," which featured Steven Curtis Chapman, Brandon Heath, a 120-piece choir, and a 50-piece orchestra.

In addition to her music career, Story is an author and speaker. Her song "Blessings" inspired the devotional book "What If Your Blessings Come Through Raindrops." She has also written "When God Doesn't Fix It: Lessons You Never Wanted to Learn, Truths You Can't Live Without" and released a book, Bible study series, and EP titled "I Give Up: The Secret Joy of a Surrendered Life." Her book "So Long, Normal: Living and Loving the Free Fall of Faith" continues her exploration of faith and personal growth. Story serves at Perimeter Church in Atlanta, Georgia, leading music and women's ministry, a role she has held for two decades.
