Laura Marano

Laura Marano is an American actress, singer, and producer whose career spans more than two decades, beginning with her first stage performances at age 5. Marano transitioned from local theater to national commercials and television, earning recurring roles on series such as "Without a Trace," "Back to You" with Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton, and Showtime's "Dexter." She has provided voice work for animated films including "Finding Nemo" and "Ice Age: The Meltdown," and made her feature film debut in "The Jacket," produced by George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh and starring Adrien Brody.

Marano gained international recognition as Ally Dawson in the Disney Channel series "Austin & Ally," a role that ran for four seasons and highlighted her abilities as both an actress and musician. Her performance earned her the Favorite TV Actress Award at the Kids' Choice Awards and a Teen Choice Award nomination. Marano's work with Disney also included guest appearances on "Jessie," "Liv and Maddie," "Girl Meets World," and the Disney Channel Original Movie "Bad Hair Day."

After "Austin & Ally," Marano expanded her career by starring in the Netflix romantic comedy "The Perfect Date" with Noah Centineo and Camila Mendes, and later co-producing and starring in the Netflix film "The Royal Treatment" alongside Mena Massoud. In "The Royal Treatment," she served as both lead actress and producer and contributed two original songs to the film's soundtrack. Marano also appeared in the Netflix interactive romantic comedy "Choose Love" and co-produced the indie drama "Saving Zoë." Her work spans genres, from family films such as "A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish" to dramatic projects.

In addition to her acting career, Marano has established herself in pop music, signing with Big Machine Records and releasing her debut single "Boombox." She later founded her independent label, Flip Phone Records, releasing a trilogy of EPs—"ME," "YOU," and "Us"—followed by her full-length debut album, "I May Be An Actress, but I Can't Fake How I Feel." Marano also hosted the Radio Disney talk show "For the Record with Laura Marano," featuring guests such as Nick Jonas, Ariana Grande, and Meghan Trainor. She is an advocate for mental health awareness and has supported charitable initiatives including the #ArtHeals campaign benefiting Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
