Lara Baldesarra

Lara Baldesarra is a television broadcaster and sports anchor whose career spans prominent sports and news networks. An honors graduate of the University of Toronto with a specialist degree in urban and economic geography, Baldesarra also attended the University of Guadalajara in Mexico and the Institut de Touraine in Tours, France, and completed post-graduate studies in broadcast journalism. She began her broadcasting career in various television and radio roles, including providing color commentary and analysis for Canadian Soccer League broadcasts and reporting rinkside for hockey leagues.

Baldesarra started her sports broadcasting career with TSN before hosting an AM sports radio show in Toronto. She then joined Fox Soccer Report as a news anchor on the weekday program. At Sportsnet, Baldesarra anchored her own morning sports show, "Sportsnet World Connected," and covered a wide range of sports, including soccer, tennis, rugby, cricket, American football, Formula 1, and boxing. She later joined Golf Channel, where she hosted "Grey Goose 19th Hole," anchored "Golf Central," and covered breaking news and press conferences.

Baldesarra served as a sports anchor and correspondent for CNN at the network's global headquarters in Atlanta, anchoring CNN International's flagship sports news program, "World Sport," and contributing to sports event coverage across all CNN platforms. She also anchored "NewsCenter" on CNN International and "Early Start" on CNN, and appeared across CNN International, CNN, and HLN as an analyst and contributor. Her coverage included major global events such as pandemics, international conflicts, plane crashes, American and European politics, and financial and economic news.

Baldesarra has led on-location coverage of major sporting events such as World Cups, Super Bowls, The Masters, the Olympics, and tennis and golf majors. She has conducted exclusive interviews with notable figures in sports, including Arnold Palmer and Floyd Mayweather. Baldesarra is recognized for her analytical approach to television journalism, providing in-depth analysis of current events, sports, and live event coverage.
