Langston Kerman

Langston Kerman is a comedian, actor, and writer known for his work in stand-up comedy, television, and podcasting. Kerman earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Michigan and an MFA in poetry from Boston University. His background in poetry and experience teaching creative writing contributed to his transition into stand-up, where he participated in poetry slams and developed a unique comedic voice. Kerman was selected as a New Face at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, marking an early milestone in his comedy career.

Kerman contributed as a writer for the Academy Awards, selected by host Chris Rock, which established his reputation in comedy writing. He gained wider recognition for his recurring role as Jered on Issa Rae's comedy-drama series "Insecure." Kerman released his Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents special, "Lightskinned Feelings" (also titled "White People Can Keep Secrets"), along with an album of the same name. The album was recognized by Vulture as one of the 10 Best Comedy Albums.

Kerman's hour-long comedy special "Bad Poetry," directed and produced by John Mulaney, was released by Netflix and named one of the best specials by Vulture. He co-created, starred in, and executive produced "Bust Down" with Sam Jay, Chris Redd, and Jak Knight, and served as head writer and executive producer of the WGA-nominated "Pause With Sam Jay." Kerman also wrote for two seasons of "South Side" on HBO Max, where he appears as Adam Bethune.

Kerman wrote for and appeared in "Everybody's Live With John Mulaney" on Netflix. His acting credits include roles in "Abbott Elementary" on ABC, "English Teacher" on FX, "The Boys" on Amazon, "Insecure" on HBO, "Bless This Mess" on ABC, and "Not Dead Yet" on ABC. He launched the iHeartRadio podcast "My Momma Told Me," where he explores Black conspiracy theories with guest comedians. Kerman's career spans stand-up, acting, writing, and producing, making him a prominent figure in the comedy industry.
