Landry Shamet

Landry Shamet is a professional NBA shooting guard for the New York Knicks, recognized for his perimeter shooting and floor spacing. Before joining the NBA, Shamet played at Wichita State University, where he led the American Athletic Conference in categories such as assists per game, true shooting percentage, and offensive box plus/minus. Entering his sophomore year, he was named to the Preseason First Team All-AAC and was included in the Preseason Wooden Award watch list, one of only two sophomores selected for the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25. He averaged 14.9 points and 5.2 assists per game as a sophomore before declaring for the NBA Draft.

Shamet was selected with the 26th pick in the NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. He made an early impact as a rookie, scoring a career-high 29 points off the bench in a home victory over the Washington Wizards, including a Sixers rookie record eight three-pointers. He later earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors. After being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers mid-season, Shamet continued to deliver in high-pressure moments. In his first game with the Clippers, he scored 17 points, with 13 coming in the fourth quarter during a comeback against the Boston Celtics. He further established his reputation for clutch play in the playoffs, hitting the game-winning three-pointer in a 31-point comeback victory over the Golden State Warriors.

Shamet's NBA career includes stints with the Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix Suns, and Washington Wizards before joining the Knicks. While with the Suns, he scored a career-high 31 points, tying a franchise record with nine three-pointers in a single game. His journey to New York included overcoming adversity, such as being waived after a dislocated shoulder in a preseason game. He later joined the Westchester Knicks in the NBA G League before re-signing with the Knicks. Shamet's resilience was evident when he scored a career-high 36 points to help the Knicks defeat the Miami Heat.

Shamet concluded a regular season campaign with averages of 9.3 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 2.0 three-pointers in 23 minutes per game across 51 games, shooting 39.2 percent from three-point range. His postseason performances have included a 16-point, four-for-four from three-point range showing in a 130–93 victory over Cleveland in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. In the NBA Finals, Shamet has served as a key contributor to the Knicks' championship run, providing clutch shooting and valuable bench scoring. His consistent statistics, playoff performances, and veteran presence have established him as a respected role player in the league.
