Lance Gross

Lance Gross is recognized for his portrayal of Calvin Payne on Tyler Perry's hit TBS sitcom "House of Payne." Gross has also appeared as Steven Sealy in "The Bobby Brown Story" and held recurring roles on "MacGyver" and "Tyler Perry’s The Paynes" on OWN.

Gross starred as Marcus opposite America Ferrera and Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker in the Fox Searchlight comedy "Our Family Wedding," a film centered around the challenges leading up to a young couple's wedding. He made his feature film debut alongside Tyler Perry and Angela Bassett in the Lionsgate/Tyler Perry dramedy "Meet The Browns," and later starred in "Tyler Perry's Temptations: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor."

Gross has received multiple NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on "House of Payne." The series has earned numerous NAACP and Vision Awards since its premiere. His additional television credits include The Bernie Mac Show on Fox and Eve on UPN.

In addition to his acting career in film and television, Gross has appeared in music videos for R&B artists including Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Kirk Franklin, Latoya Luckett, Angela Simmons, Kelis, Mary J. Blige, and Tyra B.

A native of Oakland, California, Gross holds a Bachelor of Arts in theatre from Howard University and has trained at The Ivanna Chubbuck Studio and Tasha Smith Acting Studio. Initially aspiring to become a professional track and field athlete, Gross chose to pursue acting and is also active as a photographer.
