LaRoyce Hawkins Biography
LaRoyce Hawkins is a television, film, and theatre actor born and raised in Harvey, Illinois, in the Chicago South Suburbs. Raised by his parents, Leah Bradley and Leonard Hawkins, he developed an early interest in performing while attending Thornton High School, where he first explored acting and stand-up comedy. Hawkins later earned a full tuition scholarship to attend Illinois State University, where he majored in acting.
Hawkins began his professional acting career with the role of Art Baker in the feature film The Express. He subsequently appeared in several television series, including House of Payne, Detroit 1-8-7, and Underemployed.
Hawkins is best known for his work as a series regular on the Chicago P.D. franchise, where he continues to portray a key character within the Chicago-based procedural universe that includes appearances on Chicago Fire. He has also appeared in Ballers.
Outside of acting, Hawkins remains deeply connected to his Chicago community, spending time speaking at middle schools and high schools to mentor and inspire students facing challenges similar to those he experienced growing up. Through his work on and off screen, he is committed to storytelling, community engagement, and creative expression.
