La La Anthony

La La Anthony is an American actress, television personality, producer, New York Times bestselling author, and entrepreneur whose career spans radio, television, film, and theater. Anthony began her entertainment career as a teenager, interning at Atlanta's Hot 97 radio station, which led to hosting her own radio show. She continued in radio through her teens before joining MTV at age 22, where she co-hosted "Total Request Live." During her tenure at MTV, Anthony interviewed numerous prominent celebrities, including Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Will Smith, and Angelina Jolie.

Anthony left MTV to pursue additional opportunities, founding her production company, Krossover Productions. She produced the documentary "Tyson," directed by James Toback, which received international recognition and debuted at the Cannes Film Festival. Anthony expanded into theater as a co-producer for the Broadway production of "Eclipsed" by Danai Gurira, starring Lupita Nyong'o. "Eclipsed" earned the Tony Award for Best Play and became the first all-female, all-Black show on Broadway.

Transitioning from hosting and reality television, Anthony focused on acting, joining the cast of the crime drama "Power" on Starz as Lakeisha Grant and becoming a series regular. She also portrayed Dominique Morris in the Showtime series "The Chi" and appeared as Markisha Taylor in Starz's "BMF." Her film credits include "Two Can Play That Game," "You Got Served," "Think Like a Man," "Think Like a Man Too," and "Chi-Raq," reflecting her versatility across comedy, drama, and ensemble productions.

Anthony authored the self-help book "The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex, and Happiness," which became a No. 1 New York Times bestseller, offering relationship advice for independent women. Her second book, "The Power Playbook," provides guidance on achieving professional and personal success. Anthony received an NAACP Image Award for her role in the BET miniseries "The New Edition Story."

In business, Anthony launched the size-inclusive fashion line 5th & Mercer with Lord & Taylor, the mineral makeup brand Motives for La La, and the hair care product Inala. She has executive produced projects including "Juju" for Universal Pictures and a series about Cyntoia Brown for Starz.
