Kyle Lowry

Kyle Lowry, a professional basketball player, currently plays for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA. His career, marked by numerous accolades, began to rise to prominence when he led the Toronto Raptors to their first NBA championship in franchise history in 2019. Lowry also holds the record for the most career triple-doubles for the Raptors, underscoring his ability to impact games across multiple statistical categories. Another testament to his versatility on the court is his participation in the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend Skills Challenge.

Lowry's leadership and court savvy were instrumental in the Raptors' achievement of a franchise-best 48–34 record in the 2013-2014 season. He continued to make his mark in the 2015-16 season, helping the Raptors achieve their first 50-win season. His performances were recognized when he was named to the All-NBA Third Team and the Eastern Conference All-Star team. Beyond his club duties, Lowry also represented the U.S. at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where he won a gold medal with the national team. In 2025, Prime Video announced Lowry as an NBA on Prime analyst.

In recognition of his philanthropic efforts and influence in society, he received an Honorary Doctor of Humanities degree from Acadia University on May 9, 2021.
